Vienna

Thursday 7July

A full on day exploring Vienna, what a city!  The metro and trams are great and save your feet as there is so much to see, you could spend weeks here and still not get around it all. We burned through  some battery power in our cameras as Vienna is over the top!

We started at St Stephen's Cathedral, fantastic.

Then we truly tested our shoe leather, hold on to your hats for some pics of the extravangaza that is Vienna.  Not only were the parks, buildings and sculptures superb but we also noticed how clean it was,  the bike lanes were in  full use and the  guys and gals zooming about on  bicycles in their summer gears looked fashionable and chic. Great city!

We found a beautiful rose garden by the Greek theater on the way to Parliament buildings.

We also visited the Dorortheum,  an auction house with an amazing collection of treasures, I loved the sculpture below, just a few thousand euros and it could be shipped home for us.

OK folks, prepare for 'over the top' building's and sculpture..... Imperial Palace grounds and a busker with a twist

We loved the little gardens along the way to cool off in the shade and of course there is more sculpture tucked away in each park, Goethe, Franz Joseph and some with  chalk commentary.

The Opera House, the Museum Quarter.....it goes on...

Lovely little flower shops and flower boxes throughout the city.

Nice to see street scuplture honouring the workers.
