Sausalito & Houseboats

After doing a spot of yardwork we went to the Golden Gate vista point but the fog was rolling in.  Not to be deterred we did a spot of exploring around Sausalito, Liberty Shipway.

Great little beach with families having fun in the sun.

Lovely little tidal estuary and bird wetland.

We had a walk around the groovy little houseboat settlement.

We met Danny and his two kitty cats and had a good yarn about him building his houseboat and living aboard. 

Danny was so welcoming and invited us aboard into his home - a great set up. Danny also had an electric bike to zip about in and a fancy wee solar powered dinghy with macrame tassles - fantastic!

There's everything from architectural gems to beautifully repurposed old working boats.

We saw both the grand and the maintenance challenged. Lovely  to see the bird life and house-boaties all living in sympatico right in a city.
