Since we were last here 6 months ago things have gotten worse for the citizens and prices have sky rocketed...taxes increased and many more people out of work. The government decided to close down the state broadcaster while we were here and in Monastiraki Square where we were staying there were big protests. Young people here are very disillusioned. Many of our waiters in the restaurants in the islands all have great qualifications but no work apart from the seasonal work in the islands...many said they have to leave Greece if they want a future.
