As-salamu alaykum from Kuala Lumpur.
We landed early afternoon at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and took the KLIA Express fast train into the centre. The train was immaculately clean and took about 30 mins which beats the road traffic by at least 30 minutes.
We are staying in Masjid Jamek which is two Metro stops from all the big city action. It certainly feels like we are in the big smoke after the peace and quiet of Langawki.
After checking into our hotel we had a looky-lu around the neighbourhood. We found a hyper market and it's always fascinating looking at what's for sale in other countries. Check out the chili's!Plenty of Chilli Sauce to choose from :)
We then looked around the back streets and low and behold we had entered gold and diamond street/s! We've never seen so much bling, this is the place to come to buy dowry jewellery.
Not quite my taste but stunning none the less.
We then came upon Masjid India mosque with the most lovely welcoming sign for non Muslims who want to learn about the mosque.
It was such a lovely evening and not too hot so we kept walking to Masjid Jamek, officially Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque and one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur.
It is located at the juncture of the the Klang and Gombak rivers. It was built in 1909, designed by Arthur Benison Hubback and is a beauty.
