Exploring Kuala Lumpur

There are some beautiful little street garland stalls right by our hotel. A man sews the blooms into these pretty garlands.

Another super muggy day so set off to check out local emerging artists at the Petronas Gallery after a quick coffee stop.

The old shop houses in our area  are slowly being made over which is great, they get restored and have a new lease of life .

So we had breakfast at Timothy's!

Fortified with coffee we set off for the Petronas Towers and along the way passed some interesting street art.

Interesting sculpture paying homage to the Durian fruit. The Durian is a much maligned fruit, you either love it or hate it.

You see signs at hotels, restaurants, buses and on the metro stations saying 'No Durian' - they do smell bad but the fruit is allegedly delicious. I can't get past the smell :)

Creative use of recycled plastic water/soda bottles and coloured water 👌

There are a lot of shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

They are full of high end designer brands with a lot of window shoppers.

The Petronas Towers are pretty impressive.

You can take a walk across the sky bridge if it takes your fancy. We were looking for the art gallery, followed the signs and ........no gallery. Turns out the gallery closed during Covid and none of the website information had been updated.

On to Plan B, a walk to view the new  Saloma Link Bridge.

The bridge is named after a Malaysian- Singaporean singer who is buried in the nearby Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery.

The link bridge was opened in 2020 and is a stunning design.

The bridge is lit up at night.

A fun, but hot day in the big smoke.
